YEAR 6 Autumn Term
2025-26
A huge welcome to all of our new pupils into Year 6.
The 10 spellings we are currently practising (week beginning 20.10.25) are:
- words beginning with variations of <ate>
climate, hesitate, fortunate, generate, delicate,
celebrate, chocolate, indicate, immediate, participate
Here is some important information for the year ahead.
Swimming:
Oak will swim this half-term; the first session is Thursday 11th September. Elder class will swim after half-term.
This half-term, Mr Waring will be teaching Oak class on a Thursday morning. Next half term, he will be teaching Elder on a Thursday morning as Mr Waring will take both classes swimming.
PE:
Oak class has indoor PE on Mondays and outdoor PE on a Thursday afternoon (if not swimming in the morning).
Elder class has indoor PE on Tuesdays and outdoor PE on a Thursday afternoon (if not swimming in the morning).
Homework:
This will be set every two weeks. Each child has a homework book in which to complete/stick their work. Books need to be submitted on Thursdays and new homework will be issued on the Friday. Year 6 is a good time to start practising completing homework expectations in readiness for Secondary school!
Please bring a water bottle to school!
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns and if not, we look forward to seeing you at the first parents’ evening later on in the term.
Best Wishes
