Parental Controls
Parents/ carers need to take five steps to keep their children safer online:
1. Understand how to set limits from your internet service provider (SKY, TALKTALK, Virgin, BT)
2. Put restrictions on devices. (iPad, mobiles, Xbox etc.)
3. Set safe search on google and YouTube (turn off auto play on YouTube)
4. Have a plan for when things go wrong.
5. Most importantly – keep involved in child’s online life
Apps
If your child is asking to use Tik Tok or Snapchat please see the attached guidance. It is not recommended for Primary age pupils due to the sensitive or inappropriate nature of some one the content and safeguarding surrounding unmonitored interactions with strangers.
Latest Safeguarding News:
10th Oct 2025
URGENT warning: Safeguarding alert about the children's book series 'Spy Cat/Pups' and 'Spy Cat' books written by Andrew Cope.
The books contain a link to a website which has been hacked and now contains highly innapropriate adult content with no age restriction. (It appears on the inside page or on the back of the book).
Following advice, we will now remove any Andrew Cope books from the shelves of the library and classrooms. We ask you, as a precaution, to check at home and remove any of the mentioned books from your child's access.
Hopefully this issue will be resolved in a timely manner.
Snapchat
Warning: On Snapchat, there is a group called Lawyer 21, which contains school children as members. In this group, there are inappropriate photos of a lot of male and female private parts. Police have been informed. Please check your child’s devices for this group if they have Snapchat.
